Cisco Configuration Assistant unable to upload AnyConnect to UC500, UC520, UC540

Cisco AnyConnect

After about 2 hours of messing with my UC540 with the new CCA, I’ve finally figured out my problem. Up until this point I’ve even reset to factory defaults my UC540, rebuilt the configuration from scratch, just to find the same unfortunate error. After a good chunk of unsuccessfully googling I finally looked up the release notes for the new software pack for the UC540, and found the error documented page 10 of this difficult to find PDF.

The error I kept receiving from CCA was: Error in copying package file, C:anyconnect-win-3.1.01065-k9.pkg

There you will find these words:

It is recommended to use SSL VPN Anyconnect client package version 2.5 only due
to memory constraints. Installing any other recent versions which are not
compatible with UC5xx products will cause the devices to run out of memory and
fail.

I really don’t understand why Cisco wouldn’t just have the client report an error that the AnyConnect client is too large for memory. If it’s a known issue it really should have reached the CCA team. Looks like I’m going to be stuck at AnyConnect 2.5!
